Jacob provides a variety of diagnostic services including evaluation and analysis of existing structures. He leads the firm’s focus on Concrete Consulting and conducts in-depth studies with tools such as GPR, impact echo, impulse response, UPV and half-cell corrosion potential. By using software such as ANSYS and STADIUM, he can perform finite element analysis. With his extensive knowledge in this area, he presents to universities and conferences around the country. Since joining the firm, Jacob continues to serve on the Technology Steering Committee and is an active participant with the American Concrete Institute. He earned his doctorate from Purdue University and his Master and Bachelor in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University. Jacob is a licensed professional engineer in Alabama, Louisiana, Maryland, Oklahoma, and Texas.

If you had to choose a different career, what would it be?
A pilot.
What gives you the most satisfaction in your work?
… projects where there are real, life-safety issues that require immediate attention, making unsafe situations safe.
Why did you choose Walter P Moore?
I wanted to continue to work in the field after my doctoral studies, getting my hands dirty “up-close and personal” on interesting and unique structures.
