Eduardo Gil, PE / Senior Engineer / Structures, San Diego

Aha moment: “I have always enjoyed physics and mathematics, so I wanted to pursue a career that would allow me to utilize applied science to solve the problems of society; this led me to Civil Engineering.”
Outside the office: He enjoys hiking, traveling, and weightlifting.

Proudest accomplishment to date: Designing a man-made mountain that weaved multiple uses throughout, including a walkway, show spaces, water rides, and dining venues.

Proudest innovation: “I discovered the idea of smart speed bumps that allow vehicles traveling within the speed limit to pass over without feeling a bump and deploy only when the vehicle is at or above the speed limit.”
