Director of Traffic and ITS Engineering

Responsibilities
In this position, the Director of Traffic and ITS Engineering will lead a team of engineers and technicians designing and producing a variety of traffic and ITS engineering projects. The responsibilities will include managing, assisting in analysis, design and implementation of projects such as traffic impact studies, traffic operations studies, capacity analysis, traffic signal design, ITS design, signal timing, signing, striping, lighting, and traffic control plans.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments.
- Planning and developing projects with unique or complex issues. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope,
selection of areas for investigation, and development of novel concepts. - Will acts as technical liaison to individuals within and outside his organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining
to individual’s field. - Responsible for all aspects of services for an assigned Practice Area, including such activities as design and production, client management, personnel management,
financial management, and business development. - Coordinates work and/or various initiatives with other Practice Areas and with corporate support groups.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, or appropriate degree
- 15+ years of experience
- PE or appropriate license/certification required
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational skills
