Synopsis
This presentation illuminates the construction of the Thomas A. Fanning Student-Athlete Performance Center, a benchmark project in sustainable design and construction. Discover how the team successfully salvaged 25 tons of steel from the adjacent Bobby Dodd Stadium and integrated the beams into the new facility’s frame. This was accomplished at no additional cost to Georgia Tech and without impacting the project schedule. Learn how this innovative approach saved approximately 25,000 kg of carbon emissions, showcasing a successful model for circularity in construction.
