Synopsis

The University of Houston has recently joined the Big 12 Conference, which meant bigger crowds and more vehicles on campus for gameday. The old way of doing things was no longer going to work and a new event parking plan was necessary. UH joined with Walter P Moore to craft a new parking and traffic management plan that would provide the seamless parking experience fans expect.

In this session, we will review the previous event parking plan and discuss what worked and what needed change. We will then focus on all the components the team reviewed in an effort to enhance the system moving forward, including communication, pre-sell of parking passes, parking technology, wayfinding signage and coordination with all stakeholders. Our presentation will include what we learned along the way and will detail all the system elements we put in place to make the gameday parking experience as uneventful as possible.
