Susan has served as an engineering consultant for public entities throughout the central and southern regions of the U.S. for over 20 years.  Susan now brings those strong technical capabilities coupled with knowledge and understanding of people and project management to her role as Managing Director of Civil Engineering for the firm’s Austin office.

Certified with the Institute of Asset Management, Susan specializes in performing business case analysis for infrastructure projects, taking into account the asset investment, short and long term performance, and operation/maintenance demands that will be required by the owner, ensuring that the proposed improvements are in alignment with the owner's resources.

As an active member of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Texas and a City of Austin Water and Wastewater Commissioner and a Member of their Impact Fee Advisory Committee, Susan focuses on the development of State and local policy that impacts the business of Engineering and entities that provide public infrastructure and services. 

Receiving her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from California State University, Long Beach, Susan is a licensed professional engineer in Texas, Arizona, California, and Nevada.

How does what you do make a difference in the world?
Infrastructure is the backbone to the health of our nation.
What inspired you to choose your career path?
My father was a mechanical engineer. I wanted to follow in his footsteps but with more of an emphasis on the environment, so I studied civil engineering and water resources.
If you had to choose a different career, what would it be?
A water, land, and mineral rights attorney.
