Abhijit Shah

As Country Managing Director, Abhijit plays a pivotal role in advancing the firm’s India strategy. Not only in expanding the workshare model but also in strengthening the firm’s presence as a trusted consulting entity, opening new market sectors, and deepening regional presence. Under his leadership, the India team has grown to more than 200 professionals across three offices in Pune, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad. Abhijit is dedicated to integrating India-based staff with U.S. teams as core contributors to projects in India, the United States, and worldwide. He has served on the board of Walter P Moore India since 2011 and is an active participant in global strategy discussions shaping the firm’s international footprint. In 2025, he was elected to the Walter P Moore Board of Directors. His governance experience and ability to bridge U.S. and India leadership have been instrumental in driving corporate alignment, accountability, and global growth.

With 26 years of experience, Abhijit is a seasoned business leader, strategist, and engineer at Walter P Moore, where he has held multiple leadership roles across the U.S. and India. He began his career in 1999 as a graduate structural engineer in the Dallas office, quickly gaining recognition as a skilled project manager on a wide variety of structural projects. In 2011, Abhijit returned to Pune to establish Walter P Moore’s permanent presence in India. Today, he leads the execution of strategy, financial performance, and growth for all India offices. Additionally, supporting the US offices, his team in Indian has delivered landmark projects such as the roof of the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Arena in Chennai, and the Rainwater Harvesting and Drainage study for Bangalore International Airport. He is passionate about advancing the digitization of the AEC industry and harnessing the transformational potential of AI to shape its future.
