About the Project
Built in 1923 as a private residence for W.W. Fondren, one of the founders of Humble Oil, the five guest suites and restaurant La Colombe d’Or is a Houston landmark hosting celebrities, politicians, and international figures.
It’s new neighbor, the Residences at La Colombe d’Or is a 34-story high-rise that connects to the hotel through a series of amenity areas, including an art gallery and outdoor plaza with a fireplace. Another 14,000-square-foot outdoor green space sits at the northernmost portion of the site. The new building also has 17 additional luxury rooms for guests of the hotel.
To ensure structural safety and integrity for the new structure and its connection to the old building, Walter P Moore used its structural engineering expertise to help the project come to fruition.
