Overview
Mastodons once roamed “Bone Valley,” where the Streamsong Resort has been nestled within the natural landscape. The architect on the project, known for his artistry, envisioned incorporating perspective, scale, and light into the custom designs, bringing the property’s history to life. The final construction included intimate details of the land, from concrete petrified tree columns to a 360-degree view of the celestial sky from a rooftop patio.

About the Project
Streamsong Resort is a year-round resort offering various programs and amenities, including two world-class 18-hole championship golf courses built on land originally used in phosphate mining. This six-story, 198,000 square-foot lodge has 140 guest rooms of multiple types, five adjacent villas, a spa, a state-of-the-art conference center, a wide array of restaurant and dining selections, a 22,000 square foot clubhouse with spacious golf practice area and golf academy, plus other activities including hunting, fishing, and outdoor sports.
The soil conditions offered numerous challenges to the design team. Vibro-replacement soil improvement and augercast piles were used to stiffen and stabilize the soil. Walter P Moore worked closely with the owner, contractor, and geotechnical engineer to avoid the collapse of the existing dunes and lake banks during construction.
