Walter P Moore utilizes nondestructive techniques to diagnose the condition of structures and provide appropriate, targeted solutions. Nondestructive test methods allow us to evaluate structures without causing structurally-significant damage. We perform a variety of tests such as ground-penetrating radar, impulse response, impact echo, ultrasonic pulse velocity, and half-cell potential. These tests show defects, voids, reinforcement depth/spacing, connection integrity, and potential for corrosion in structures. The test results allow our engineers to address a building’s symptoms, identify the root causes of distress, and determine the extent of repairs needed. In addition, these tests can typically be performed quickly, without the need for exploratory openings or significant disruption in a building’s operations. The end result is a solution that is long-lasting and limited to the actual extents of distress.
