Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium
Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium
The Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium expansion is a massive, $370M, multi-phased expansion and renovation project that included an expansion to the south end zone to include new suites, club space, fan amenities, offices and training facilities; a vertical expansion to the west side to include a new press box level, suites, club space, new seating concourses and vertical circulation; an expansion and renovation to the north end zone, and cosmetic improvements to the seating bowl.
The project also provided a new, 30,000 SF training and sports performance facility beneath the seating bowl and scoreboard in the south end zone. The mostly column-free space required multiple transfer elements and hanging floor systems. In addition, the facility now includes new offices, locker rooms and athletic support spaces, hydrotherapy facilities, the “Red Room,” a 212-seat, 3,700 SF column-free meeting space, and the Grand Lobby, which welcomes fans into the stadium and showcases the history of success in Sooner football.
A new 7,800 SF LED scoreboard, the largest in the Big 12 Conference was installed above the south end zone canopy. Two 3,000 SF open-air fan plazas are in the southeast and southwest corners, providing fans with a spectacular view of the field.
