Investors Group Field

Home to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League, the Winnipeg Rifles (CJFL) and the University of Manitoba Bisons football team, this new stadium provides fans with a range of amenities including iconic canopy roofs to provide protection from the elements, 52 luxury suites, a walk of fame, and several restaurants.

Walter P Moore was a member of a design build team, led by the steel fabricator, which responded to bridging documents with four alternate structural concepts for the iconic 188m span roof. The concept selected by the architect features a pair of 15m deep exposed tri-chord trusses spanning the length of the field above the sideline seating. The trusses support a sinusoidal canopy roof which spans between the trusses and support columns at the back of the bowl. Walter P Moore’s redesign simplified and economized the original design, saving about 25% of the structural steel.

The venue hosted the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015.
