Matt is a Principal and Managing Director in Walter P Moore's Chicago Diagnostics Group. With two decades of experience, Matt is a recognized subject-matter expert in forensics with specific expertise with insurance carriers, restoration, failure investigations, and litigation support. He is skilled at assessing and designing repairs for steel, concrete, precast concrete, masonry, and heavy timber in a variety of building types.

In addition, Matt has demonstrated expertise in various market sectors including aviation, condominium, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, entertainment, and sports. He is instrumental in the development of structural concepts, analysis, and design. Matt has performed peer reviews of structural design, constructability reviews of atypical formwork, shoring, developed shoring, demolition sequence plans, and is well versed in the use of BIM and 3D generated cloud data.

What inspired you to choose your current career path?
I wanted to become a contractor when I started college but after taking “Strength of Materials” my sophomore year I change my CoOp employment to a local engineering firm. By senior year I was working in the structure's lab testing composite beams of a local inventor and leading our schools steel bridge team.
If you had to choose a different career, what would it be?
Master woodworker. I watched every episode of New Yankee Workshop with my dad growing up.
What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of work?
Making sawdust at my local community woodworking shop and cheering for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats.
