About the Project
This single-story, 6 MW Tier III data center supports United Airlines’ worldwide data operations. The state-of-the-art facility, designed with advanced construction technology, is engineered to withstand 200 mph wind events and the high energy demands of continuous data transmission.
Both the main framing and exterior skin are composed of structural precast concrete. Insulated sandwich wall panels serve as shear walls, while a structural steel mezzanine supports horizontal cooling wheels that provide natural air circulation. In accordance with the Uptime Institute’s performance standards, the facility was designed for 200 mph wind resistance based on the Operational Enhanced Fujita Scale for EF4 tornado conditions and is classified under Seismic Design Category D per IBC 2006.
