Francesco Banchini

Senior Associate/Structures

Practice Areas

Francesco Banchini develops structural solutions for complex, design-led projects, working closely with architects, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to balance structural performance with aesthetics, functionality, and feasibility. Based in London, he brings an international perspective to the firm’s work in the United Kingdom and Europe, helping teams translate ambitious architectural ideas into clear, efficient, and buildable structural concepts.

Experience

Francesco Banchini specialises in complex and long-span structures, with experience spanning major sports venues, tall buildings, transport infrastructure, bridges, adaptive reuse, and public and cultural facilities. His work includes the structural design and delivery of stadium developments in Morocco and Saudi Arabia, residential towers in London, the retrofit of historic warehouses for laboratory use, and the development of pedestrian bridge concepts.

His approach combines advanced structural analysis with a strong understanding of architectural intent. He has experience in seismic assessment, dynamic behaviour, soil-structure interaction, reinforced and prestressed concrete, and the monitoring and remediation of historic structures. Alongside his professional practice, Francesco Banchini has taught engineering and architectural design at several universities in England, including The Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London.
