Ryan Anderson
Ryan Anderson, SE, DBIA
A key leader and Managing Director of Walter P Moore’s San Diego office, Ryan has served as Project Manager on some of Southern California’s largest and most complex projects. These include several substantial sports and entertainment projects that serve as economic catalysts for their communities. He specializes in the design of steel and concrete structures for a wide range of market sectors and building types including higher education, science and technology, sports, aviation, entertainment, hospitality, commercial, and seismic retrofit—among others.
His broader interest in the construction industry, vast experience in design-build projects, and construction site experience have fostered his empathetic ability to envision the best outcomes for all stakeholders on a project rather than look only through the eyes of the structural engineer. As a DBIA Certified Professional, Ryan champions design-build efforts within DBIA and Walter P Moore’s Design-Build Community of Practice. He utilizes his interactions with contractors and the construction engineering services team to develop the most cost- and schedule-effective structural designs.
Outside of the office, Ryan is involved in the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), Urban Land Institute (ULI), Structural Engineers Association of San Diego (SEAOSD), as well as previous involvement with the ACE Mentor Program.
